Understanding carrier codes and regional operating partners: Federal reporting data assigns distinct two-letter IATA carrier codes to each operating air certificate. In addition to widely known consumer brands like Delta (DL), United (UA), American (AA), Southwest (WN), Alaska (AS), and Hawaiian (HA), the dataset includes major regional operating carriers that fly under contract for mainline brand networks: Endeavor Air (9E) (operating exclusively as Delta Connection), SkyWest Airlines (OO) (operating regional flights for Delta, United, and Alaska), Envoy Air (MQ) and PSA Airlines (OH) (operating as American Eagle), and Republic Airways (YX) (operating for American, Delta, and United).
